I Hate Waiting...

20 point if you know this movie.
Guy 1: But, I promise I will not kill you until you reach the top.
Guy 2: That's VERY comforting, but I'm afraid you'll just have to wait.
Guy 1: I hate waiting. I could give you my word as a Spaniard.
Guy 2: No good. I've known too many Spaniards.
Guy 1: Isn't there any way you trust me?
Guy 2: Nothing comes to mind.
Guy 1: I swear on the soul of my father, Domingo Montoya, you will reach the top alive.
Guy 2: Throw me the rope.

If you guessed that this was the conversation between "The Man in Black" and Indigo Montoya, from The Princess Bride, you were right!

I love that movie and the dialog. The whole thing is one long quote!

I believe I have posted about this before. If not, I talk about it a lot. I am not patient. I have prayed for God to give the the grace to be patient. He has given me soooo many opportunities to develop this. I have asked for the spirit of patience and to be filled with it. I guess I am getting better but I have not "reached the top" yet!

Herbert the Snail Song:
The chorus is ALWAYS resonating in me. It is a kids song but man does it help me when I am at my most impatient times...

Have patience, have patience
Don't be in such a hurry
When you get, impatient
You only start to worry
Remember, remember
That God is patient too
And thing of all the times when others have to wait for you!

God waits on me every single day. He waits for me to talk with him, praise him, worship him, adore him. He waits for me to obey him, to respond to him, to listen to him. God is REALLY patient with me...WAY more than I deserve.

All that to be said, we have been waiting for an offer on our home to come in and today it finally came. It was a long time to wait and I had to keep my focus on God's plan and timing and not get too wrapped up in when the darn thing was coming!!!!!! It was a good exercise for me. I have other friends going through stuff right now where they have to be patient and just happened to read a blog about being patient for a child. I have been there. There are bigger things at work than the sale of this house.

We have signed the offer and sent it back. Tomorrow we place an offer on a home here in North Carolina and see if we get it! I am anxious to know. "I hate waiting" - just like Indigo!

Anyway, I figured if I wrote this all down, it would help me clear my mind and allow the Holy Spirit to fill me with His patience and be blessed by that!

If our offer is accepted and we have a successful inspection on both homes, I will post pics of the potential new home of The Nordyke Family, Mark (aka Wesley - that is another blog), Rebecca ,Charli and Georgia!
