The time I spent in Iowa for college was so memorable. Mostly because I met my honey but also because I had so much fun! One of my partners in fun while I was there was Angie. From reenacting our favorite scenes from movies to playing James Bond with hair dryers, we did it all!
Angie and I have reconnected through Facebook. It has been awesome to see her find a wonderful husband and now have started a family with her baby son, Brady.
This fall, Angie was told she had cancer of the tongue. She had two sections removed and then all the lymph nodes on her right side of her neck. It is a pretty nasty scar. It looked like she had beaten the cancer and they got it all.
Just before Christmas, she found out that there is likely still some cancer left. This cancer is very aggressive and tricky as it acts like human tissue and is hard to trace.
Over the next 6 weeks, she will be receiving daily radiation and 3 doses of chemotherapy. The hope is that this aggressive treatment will eradicate the cancer from her body.
They have lots of help coming but what they need most is prayer. Please join me in praying for Angie, Jason and their son Brady.
If you want, you can view her blog and updates at www.angieandjason.blogspot.com
I truly believe and have seen first hand that God can wipe cancer out of a body completely.
When I was in college, a family friend had leukemia. We put post it notes and 3 x 5 cards up around the house that said "Pray for Michelle". Michelle was cured and now has 5 kids!
One of my cheerleaders was diagnosed with non Hodgkin's lymphoma in the fall of 2008 and beat it. She was back cheering in February of 2009.
One of my other cheerleaders was recently told it was likely she had leukemia. She was admitted to the oncology department of Children's Hospital. Prayers went up on her behalf like crazy and when the tests came back, she was cancer free!
God's glory is revealed in each of these situations in different ways. I am praying that I get to see this miracle again and grow in my faith while I walk along side Angie even though there is half a country between us. I just posted a note on my bathroom mirror that says "Pray for Angie, Jason and Brady". Preparing my fields for rain and expecting great things from the Great Physician.

Wow, Beck...THANKS so much is all I can say! And I am impressed at your ability to so clearly state the facts and what we are facing...maybe you should write MY blogs from now on! :)
Really, really, really appreciate the prayers and that you are getting the word out to others.
Love you!
Ange
