Happy News on a Monday

Today is the day of the week that I clean my car. I try really hard throughout the week to bring in all the "junk," for lack of a better word, that accumulates during an outing. However, with two kiddos and usually a purse and some bags, I often have very full hands and stuff is left behind.

So, on Mondays, I trot out to the car during nap time and remove all the garbage, cups, plastic bags, hair clips, receipts and other randomness. Then I give the car a quick vacuum and a wipe down. It really doesn't take long if I keep up on it. Every once and a while it needs a little more attention.

Today was one of those days...

After returning home from Cabo, I found a big red blob of something on the passenger floor of the van. It was 8 am and we had been through the ringer (more on that later) and I wasn't about to care what it was. Later that day, after careful investigation I realized what it was....

Now, I believe that no proper, southern lady should be without her supply of Polynesian sauce from Chick-Fil-A. It is the most delicious sauce on the planet. I keep the car stocked just in case my wonderful CFA server forgets to give me some when I order there.

Well, I must have closed my glove compartment too aggressively and the sauce was in just the right place that it exploded. Maybe a better word would be oozed. It oozed all over the inside of the compartment and leaked out onto the rug. It made a sticky, icky mess. Now, P-sauce is Red...it looked like I had committed foul play on some poor defenseless animal and shoved him in the glove box! Gross!!!!!!!

Today, I decided to clean it. I did not have high hopes. I was setting myself up to, in the best of circumstances, see the shadow of the P-sauce in stain form as long as that car mat was in the car. I consulted my arsenal of cleaning products (which was SEVERELY depleted during the move as most of it could not travel and store well...sigh) and found some Resolve Carpet Cleaner. My spirits lifted. I thought to myself...what can help with this eewwy gewwwy mess???! Like a brick falling from the rooftop, it hit me...Goo Gone!

I love Goo Gone. It has NEVER failed me. I was still content with having my P-sauce stain but knew that it would only get better with Goo Gone.

I took my bottle out there, aimed, and squirted. I squirted until the entire mess (about the size of a silver dollar) was covered. I took my wet rag (are you on the edge of your seat yet?) and began to wipe. It pulled up the bulk of the mess easily..I was not surprised.

Then, I reapplied, held my breath....and scrubbed!!!! I scrubbed and scrubbed. When I removed the rag, my eyes were full of wonder and my jaw literally dropped.

There was no shadow, there was no stain...it was gone!!!! There is not a trace of P-sauce and I am so happy!

So, if you don't have Goo Gone, shame on you. Go get some. Go now. Log off, get your keys and go!!!!

You will not be sorry. :)
