Hard Ball

Well, I did it. I was the mean old mom today and was told that several times. After weeks of anticipation of Kyle and Cade's birthday party at Monkey Joes, they day had finally arrived. However, my girls were fighting and irritating each other all morning. They were not obeying and I finally told them I was going to take away the party if they kept it up. Never thought I would have to follow through on that one. That is why threats are not a good way to parent IMO.

Well, the disobedience continued and I did it. I pulled the plug on the party. It was hard. It crushed Charli. Georgia just had a tantrum. We have recovered now and I believe we have learned a valuable lesson.

I, for one, am not making any empty threats anymore. If I say it, so be it. My girls...well, now they know that I mean business. Obey mom on the first time, don't fight or whine or there will be a serious consequence.

Let's see how long it lasts. For now, I am enjoying my victory.
